ASTM F601: Standard Practice for Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection of Metallic Surgical Implants

Fatigue testing of implants sometimes results in cracking but not in a complete fracture. The ASTM F601 method allows the detection of even small cracks that would be invisible to the naked eye.
